Having seen the growth & betterment of technology & education in India, most international superpowers have acknowledged the potential of College Grads (from India) to be ideal for various renowned organizations across the world.

This is attracting more number of international & NRI / PIO students to take interest in engineering, architecture & other courses from the top ranked Technical Institutes of India. On the other hand, this is getting positive response from the government of India as well, because in the past few years, the govt. has improved the schemes & criteria for NRIs & foreign candidates to take admission in top Universities of India.

JEE Main & Advanced:
JEE is the most popular Engineering Entrance Exam in India for UG Courses. Students, who are currently in the final year of high school (equivalent to Grade 12th) or those who graduated high school, can only apply for JEE Main / Advance.

The subjects for JEE Exams are:

Paper 1 (B.E. / B.Tech): Physics, Chemistry & Maths
Paper 2 (B.Arch / B. Planning): Maths, Aptitude & Drawing Test
For NRI & PIO Students:

Such JEE Aspirants must apply for JEE Main firstly. If they qualify this exam, i.e. their JEE Main Rank is above the released cutoff for JEE Advanced eligibility, then only they can appear for JEE Advanced. Only the students who then qualify JEE Advanced can take admissions IITs by participating in the JoSAA Counseling & Seat Allotment Process. There is no reservation/ quota for NRIs in IITs.

Else, with JEE Main Rank, NRI/ PIO/ OCI students can take admissions in NITs, IIITs, CFIs & SPAs under the DASA Scheme (active from year 2021 onwards). Based on the cutoffs for the particular year, they will be participating in DASA / CIWG Counseling Rounds for Seat Allotment Process.

Session 2020-21 will be the last year when SAT 2 scores will be considered for DASA/ CIWG Scheme as JEE Main Rank is mandatory from 2021 onwards.
